Hello Jr Warriors families,
A bit of a late weekly update, but here it is!
Mononucleosis Exposure – One of our 6&under swimmers was diagnosed with mononucleosis today and his doctor asked that the team be notified as a precaution. Please feel free to contact me with any concerns.
Swimmers of the Week – This week’s swimmers of the week are Bella Boschetto, Jordynn Lee and Olivia Fountain. This is Bella’s second year on the team. Her persistence, upbeat attitude and hard work make her a pleasure to have in the pool every week. Bella works extremely hard always trying her best and she has become a stronger swimmer as a result. We love to see her progress! Jordynn is new to the team this year. She is like an energizer bunny and is always ready to go for every set. She gives it her all and works hard to perfect her strokes, always with a smile. Her swimming has really improved as a result! Olivia has become quite the swimmer this year. She is always ready to go when practice starts, she never gives up, and she works to improve her strokes in many ways….including watching how the older kids swim their strokes. She swam 100 IM at a recent meet and surprised herself at how well she did…it was truly a reflection of the hard work she puts in. Congratulations Bella, Jordynn and Olivia…you are all great examples to your teammates of how consistency, focus, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude all make your swimming better. You are true team players!
Meet Saturday – Our next meet is a HOME meet against SwimPro and Suburban. The timing of warm up differs a bit since there are 3 teams and we will warm up first…please take a look:
12:05 – Arrival
12:15 – Warm Up
1:00 – Meet Starts
Please sign up for the meet (yes OR no) by Friday at noon. As always, we need our usual host of volunteers so please sign up for that as well!
Have You Volunteered Yet? Just a gentle reminder that all families are asked to volunteer at least once at a meet during the season. If you have not done so yet, now is a good time. If you are unsure what to sign up for, just ask! Volunteer positions are located under the “parent sign up” tab on the website (www.waylandjw.com).
Focus of the Week – We continue our focus on breaststroke as well as legal fly and breaststroke turns and finishes (always with two hands together). Ask your kids about it!
Championship Waivers – Again this year every swimmer must have a completed waiver to participate in championships. This is a requirement by BU. Blank waivers will be available at the pool. I have also attached a blank waiver to this email. Please complete the waiver and return it to the envelope hanging on the bulletin board in the pool lobby. Thanks for your help with this!
Pizza Thursdays – We are still in need of volunteers to help sell pizza on Thursdays. Please consider signing up for a shift so we can keep this popular tradition going. You can either do it via the website (www.waylandjw.com under the “parent sign up” tab) or by going directly to http://signup.com/go/LToudvX . Many thanks for your help!
Lost Suits – Just a reminder to check your swimmer’s bag for any suits accidentally picked up in the locker room. The latest missing suit is Mario Purser’s size 28 suit…his name is on the tag. Please take a look!
That is it for this week. See you at the pool!
